The Lakers are hoping to sign China star Sun Yue, a second round pick of the Lakers last year, they want to bring back Congo Center D.J. Mbenga, and they must decide to give the team's $712K option to either Joe Crawford, or Coby Karl.
The Clippers signed draft pick G Eric Gordon
The Mavericks are looking to sign Jose Barea, Devean George, and Antoine Wright.
The Miami Heat's #2 pick in the draft, Michael Beasley, has a cracked sternum, and guard Daquean Cook will sit out for 4 weeks due to separating his shoulder a bit {ouch}
Corey Maggette met with Celtics coach Doc Rivers, apparently a longtime family friend, and he is very interested in joining the Celtics. He could only earn about $5.8 million, though, but he is very interested. The Celtics are also interested in a big man, who include the Warriors' 2006 #9 pick, Patrick O'Bryant, Hornets center Chris Andersen {who w! as suspended from the NBA for 3 years because of drug stuff}, and Pacers {jerk} center David Harrison. They are also keeping an eye out for Timberwolves guard Kirk Snyder.
The Philadelphia 76ers have contacted Hawks restricted free agents, Josh Smith and Josh Childress, and their restricted free agents, Andre Iguodala and Louis Williams. But they are interested in some other guys, too. Like Corey Maggette, Warriors center Andris Biedrins, Nets forward Nenad Krstic, and Clippers forward Elton Brand.
Chris Duhon signed a 2-year deal with the Knicks for around $12 million, which probably means Stephon Marbury is not going to be a Knick for long.
The Rockets think Celtics forward James Posey is their one missing piece, and maybe they will get him if the Celtics decide to sign Corey Maggette. They are also looking to re-sign their 42 year old center Dikembe Mutombo and forward Carl Landry, and they want to grab Spurs FA guard Brent Barry.
The Orlando Mag! ic signed their 22nd pick, Courtney Lee.
Oklahoma City s! igned dr aft picks Russell Westbrook and D.J. White to multiyear deals.
