Signature Showcase; March 8th - BWI

The rainy Saturday morning, when many prefer to stay in their pajamas, brought baseball fans of all ages and loyalties together at the BWI Hilton Hotel.

The Signature Showcase, presented by MAB Celebrity Services and Ironclad Authentics, was an event including autographs from a number of former pro athletes and a variety of vendors promoting teams, new products, or selling items. Attending players included Bill and Cal Ripken, Reggie Jackson and many more. A full list, in order of appearance, is included below.

The Orioles, Redskins, Reds, and Yankees are some of the teams that were represented. However, the star of the day was Cal Ripken Jr. He signed autographs for hundreds of people for two hours, stopping occasionally to pose of pictures and shake hands. Ripken made it a point to take time with each seeking person. He was polite, kind, gracious for each item (including an old chair from Memorial Stadium) he autographed! , and was enjoying the time to catch up with a few old friends! .

The other highlighted player was Reggie Jackson, a former Yankee. In the past, Jackson had portrayed a dislike for the city of Baltimore. On Saturday he was nothing but smiles as he signed balls, pictures, bats, and other memorabilia and chatted casually with other players and the personnel.

The inviting firm, Maroon PR, led by Bonnie Shenahan, was promoting Cal Ripken's Real Baseball. Real Baseball is an online video game which has been compared to fantasy ball. This free program allows a person to pick players for a team and then use the 'characters' to compete against friends or other teams. The event was well planned and a great place for a fan to meet his/her favorite player, make memories, and collect memorabilia. Pictures of the event will be incoming shortly.

George Sherrill Appears At The ESPN Zone, Tuesday June 17th at Noon!

Some Free Agency Filings; Millar...

Over the past week, a few of the members of the '08 Orioles have filed for free agency...

From the Orioles.com: Two Orioles filed for free agency on Thursday, taking advantage of the earliest possible moment to join the open market. Veterans Jay Payton and Kevin Millar both signaled their intentions to test their value around the league, and the Orioles will make a decision in the coming weeks or months as to whether they bid to retain their services.

Shortstop Alex Cintron filed for free agency on Friday, becoming the third Oriole to do so in the first two days of eligibility.

For the most part, these three were expected to file for free agency, and may not be back with the team -- perhaps the only exception being Millar -- however, for him to come back, he'd come back only as a late option.

Payton stepped in a reserve role in '08 with Luke Scott ! in the fold; however, I see him not returning to Baltimore, as I guess he'd want to play for a winner and never looked comfortable here, plus, he's on the wrong side of 30 and the team desperately needs to get younger.

Cintron was a decent bat; alas, he was completely useless in the field -- ok, he was just awful at times, and with the team needing shortstop help, he's as good as gone.

Millar could be back if the Orioles fail to find a first baseman on the market, or if Huff is not moved; however, I think his chances of returning to Baltimore are slim, just for the fact like with Cintron -- the team needs to get younger. Kevin was a decent glove at first, had a good batting eye, plus power; alas, he's probably at the end of the road as an everyday player as evidenced by his declining batting average over the years.

I expect him to be picked up by someone, but ardent fans will probably miss him for the energy, positivity and for just being a ! good teammate.

I sure will.

Reading the information super-highway the other day, I caught that Sammy Sosa -- a member of the 600 home run club -- was looking for a return to the Major Leagues.

The slugger who excited the world of baseball with his home run hitting ability, unabashed love for the game, and his infectious smile brought joy not only to Cubs fans in the 1990's, but to the world of baseball.

Furthermore, many credit him and Mark McGwire for rekindling the interest of the sport to fans and admirers alike; however, all the goodwill he had built up went pretty much do! wn the toilet after his appearance on Capitol Hill years ago.

John Parrish Returning To The Orioles...

It looks like an old face is coming back to the Baltimore Orioles, assuming he can make the team out of spring training. Southpaw John Parrish has signed a minor league contract with the Orioles and will compete for a roster spot in Spring Training.

Parrish, a 31-year-old who spent last season with the Toronto Blue Jays, will also get an invite to major league spring training and his contract will include an out-clause that will allow him to opt out of it if he's not on the major league roster by April 3, three days before the Orioles' season opener.

Parrish is hoping to get an opportunity to start for the Orioles. He went 10-1 with a 2.97 ERA! in 17 games (13 starts) at Triple-A Syracuse last year. He th! en appea red in 13 games, including six starts with the Blue Jays, going 1-1 with a 4.04 ERA.

Uehara Dazzles; O's Beat Dominicans

It was another impressive showing by Koji Uehara as the the Baltimore Orioles beat a formidable Dominican Republic team tuning up for the World Baseball Classic, 6-1.

Once again, Koji Uehara was golden on the mound as he threw three consecutive innings to lead the Orioles to victory. His only real mistake came about as he hit Willy Taveras with a pitch; however, he was efficient -- only needing 36 pitches to go through his afternoon.

So far, I more I reead about Uehara -- the more like him. He may not throw hard, but his control seems to be impeccable, and at this point as long as he throws strikes, has movement on his pitches, and gets guys out, he'll go a long way in being a small part in making the Orioles respectable again.

Orioles Take Second Game of Series from Jays; Is The Future Now? Wieters Called Up...

Last night at Camden Yards, the winds of change -- literally and figuratively -- were in the air. The big news yesterday was not the victory that Baltimore had over Toronto, but it looks like the youth movement and the future of the organization will be showed in the weeks and months to come. In other words, the future is now.

Rookie pitcher Jason Berken -- who was not even given an invitation to Spring Training -- was effective as he gave up two runs in five innings of work earning his first major league win. He did get touched up early and missed his spots at points; however, he battled throughout his outing and kept Baltimore in the game.

Nolan Reimold hit his first Camden Yard homer in the eighth inning, and Aubrey Huff added a solo shot -- his his 8th -- in the second inning. Brian Roberts drove in two runs, with Jones hitting his 11th home run -- a two run shot -- to give Baltimore the lead in the fifth inning.

Wieters' Walk-off Gives Baltimore a Victory Over Tampa...

It was a hell of a game last night, as the Orioles seemingly were setup to win a close one, but in the top of ninth, leading 2-1, closer Jim Johnson served up a one-out homer to Ben Zobrist to the game at two.

After both teams endured a lengthy rain delay before the ninth inning began, one figured that the game could have gone into extra innings; however, the Orioles in the bottom of the inning prevented that from happening.

Jay Howell – reliever for Tampa – came into the game and walked Luke Scott, and moments later, Mat Wieters came up to the plate and would hit a towering flyball which landed over the left-center field wall for a two-run game winning homer.

And at the end of the night, the Orioles would earn a 4-2 win over the Rays.

Baltimore got another great start from youngster Chris Tillman as he went 6 2/3 innings and gave up a run on five hits. The only run he gave up came in the sixth inning as Gregg Zaun hit a solo homer – his sixth. He didn't strike out anyone, and while he allowed a lot of flyballs, it's perhaps better to be lucky than good.

2 Points Will Clinch A Playoff Berth

Rangers 3 - Montreal 1

The Rangers were able to stay in the game through the first ten minutes even though Montreal was the better team. The rest of the game was pretty much all New York and the Rangers were able to leave MSG tonight with two points in regulation. A win for Montreal would've clinched a playoff spot, instead the win leaves New York needing only two points total out of the two remaining games against the Flyers. That's because Florida was beaten tonight by the Flyers 2-1.

Earlier today in the Rangers/Montreal Preview I predicted that the Rangers would win, I was correct about the result, not correct in the prediction (I said 4-2). I was completly wrong in one of my predictions:

Don't expect Captain Invisible to do much - he's found a way to make it through 85% of the season without being effective or inspirational - don't ! expect that to change tonight in a "must win game!"

It's always a good thing when you criticize a player on your team and then they make you eat your words. Well, tonight Chris Drury made me eat my words. He scored two goals, the first of the game and then the goal to make it 3-1.

Antropov scored the Rangers other goal, the game winner on a really gutsy play. He dove head first into an area where many players wouldn't put their foot, in order to bat a loose puck into an empty net.

Henrik Lundqvist made the good saves when he had to (2nd Star of the game) and when he couldn't make the save, on at least two occasions the posts bailed him out.

Filling Glen Sather's Shoes This Summer

If I'm Glen Sather, here's what I do between now and October to have a better team for the 2009-10 NHL season.

1) Attempt to move up in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft (NYRs currently have the 19th overall pick) or trade that first round pick if it can significantly improve the Rangers offense. [Example]

2) If I'm not able to move up & choose with the 19th overall pick, I choose ! the best player available. Currently the Rangers need forwards because they have many defensive prospects in the system. But, making a trade in the future is always possible. In my opinion, you always choose the best player available, I don't endorse drafting based on organizational needs for the most part. So, if the best player available is a defenseman, that's the player that you pick. Then, down the road it's always possible to trade that player or another defenseman in the system for a position that is needed.

3) Try to trade Redden, Drury, Gomez & Rozsival - in that particular order. All four players have contracts that are a burden to the Rangers roster and getting rid of any of the four would be a major help. The main goal is to clear salary cap room, getting something of value in return would be a bonus!

4) Sign RFAs Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan immediately. These two players have shown throughout their short NHL careers that they have ! what it takes to play in the NHL, they are gifted offensively ! (both le git top 6 forwards) and both are willing to play the physical game. Dubinsky is a future Captain and Callahan a future Assistant Captain.

5) Sign UFA Colton Orr - The Rangers must bring back Orr, he is now a top 3 fighter in the NHL. Orr has improved dramatically since coming to New York and is no longer a liability when he's out there on the ice. Not to mention, he rarely takes a minor penalty, which is something that most other NHL heavies do on a regular basis. Plus, the best thing about Orr is that he loves to fight. He made $550k last season and I see no reason why Sather shouldn't be able to get him back in Blue for another two seasons at $650k per year (or less). If the Rangers don't re-sign him before July 1st, someone (cough, cough Brian Burke) will.

6) Make decisions about the other RFAs & UFAs [as discussed in the past here @ Puck Cent! ral]

• Re-Sign Antropov to short-term deal (1-2 yrs) @ no more than $3M/yr
• Re-Sign Blair Betts to a deal similar to the one he had last season ($600-700k)
• Re-Sign Zherdev to the minimum amount possible if I know that I'm not going to be successful getting a similar scoring winger through UFA
• See what kind of interest there is around the league in Lauri Korpikoski, but don't let him walk for nothing
• Let Derek Morris walk -- too expensive
• Re-Sign Paul Mara if I can't sign a guy like Francois Beauchemin during free agency - this signing should be done after considering other options during the opening few weeks of free agency.
  

7) Call Marcus Naslund & thank him once again for freeing up some much needed cap space for next season

8) Call to inquire about Dany Heatley & Ilya Kovalchuk, see what the asking price for the two is. Call Jimmy Dolan and ask him if he's willing to pay Heatley! a $4M bonus if the Rangers can acquire him before July 1st fo! r a lowe r asking price. [See why here]

9) On July 1st take a look at the top UFAs, to see what they are asking and determine who will fit best into the salary cap limitations that the Rangers have. Avoid making further mistakes by paying big bucks to players who are past their prime (examples: Redden & Naslund).

• Call Francois Beauchemin's agent and see if he wants to leave Anaheim and what his asking price would be.Physical defenseman who is not over-priced (not yet anyways!)
  
• Call Martin Havlat's agent and see how much the winger expects
• Call Marian Gaborik's agent and see how much the winger expects - try and haggle him down emphaszing that Gaborik is a major injury risk and refuse to sign a long-term deal.

10) Continue trying to trade Redden, Drury, Gomez & Rozsival.

Arbitrator Awards Zherdev $3.9M

Nik Zherdev, who rejected the Rangers qualifying offer of $3.25 million for one year and went to arbitration, has been awarded $3.9M by the arbitrator.

According to Blue Notes:

Arbitrator Elliot Shiftman who heard the arguments from each side at a hearing on Friday in Toronto, decided on the award today. Zherdev had sought upwards of $4 million.

The Rangers had no immediate comment, and will have 48 hours to decide to accept the contract. If they reject the award, Zhederv, 24, who scored 58 points last season, can declare himself a free agent.

Although I do not think that Zherdev is worth the almost $4M contract that he has been awarded, I am not in the least bit surprised that is what the arbitrator decided. On Friday, before the hearing we had listed the salaries of comparable players to Zherdev and I felt that the arbitrator would decide somewhere in the middle between what Zherdev was asking for and what the Rangers were offering him. It's been rumored that Zherdev was seeking $4.5M/yr and if that's true then this arbitration award would be right in the middle between that amount and the $3.25M that the Rangers had offered.

We'll just have to wait and see what the Rangers decide to do - let Zherdev become a UFA, sign him and keep him or sign him and trade him. At this point keeping Zherdev seems unlikely, with not much cap room, the need to complete their defensive core for next season and the need to re-sign RFA Brandon Dubinsky.

Tiga pemain Atletico Madrid akan terlibat dalam duel hidup-mati Uruguay versus Argentina. Tapi dibanding Sergio Aguero dan Maxi Rodriguez, Diego Forlan lebih memiliki nilai lebih untuk disoroti.

Spurs Turn Down 4.5 Million WBA Bid

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected WBA's 4.5 million offer for Frederick Kanoute.

Albion manager Bryan Robson originally enquired if Kanoute could join his nearly relegated team on a season-long loan. After the Spurs head coach, Martin Jol, refused that offer, WBA came back and tabled the 4 million plus deal.

A spokesperson for Spurs said: "We can confirm that we have rejected a bid from West Brom for Fredi Kanoute."

Kanoute, not always a fans favorite, was used as a key figure in Jol's "Little & Large" striking partnership, with Kanoute being the target man.

It seems as though Spurs are holding out for at least 6 million.

That figure may price Albion out of the race to sign the large Spurs front man. As they already have a tight transfer kitty, spending nearly all of it on a player that doesn't score many goals would not seem like a viable solution to Robso! n.

Many fans had hoped that Spurs would have accepted the bid, as Kanoute is one of the most annoying players around. He is the type of player that can look world-class and score some amazing goals.

Unfortunately for many Spurs fans, this doesn't happen a lot.

Feyenoord's Technical/Sporting Director Mark Wotte was spotted in the Tottenham Hotspur director's box at Reading on Saturday.

Wotte, is seated on the bottom row, and is the smartly dressed man sitting in the middle of the three gentlemen.

Manchester United may be in big trouble

The BBC have spoken to Tottenham Hotspur about news that Dimitar Berbatov is currently in talks with Manchester United.

"We have not allowed Manchester United to talk to any of our players. The only club in Manchester that can talk with Mr. Berbatov are Manchester City, who have matched the valuation we have given the player's registration" stated a Tottenham spokesman.

Reports are rife that Berbatov is currently at Manchester United's Carrington training ground, finalising terms.

If this is the case, Sir Alex's nose may get a little redder.

Keane rumours gather momentum

Sunderland ITK's, Sundersmoothy & Makemitk have reported that Robbie Keane's agent, Struan Marshall, has been in talks with Niall Quinn over a possible move.

Robbie is thought to have arrived back in London after his holiday break. If there is any truth in these rumours, we can expect to hear a lot more on this story.

I think it would be bad for the team as a whole if Keano left. After all, who could we realistically get in so as to replace him?

Milan Klaim Sudah Gaet Calon Bintang Masa Depan

MILAN - Adriano Galliani mengklaim Milan telah mendatangkan pemain muda yang akan jadi bintang di masa depan. Mulai musim ini, Milan tampak melakukan regenerasi tim.
Beberapa pemain muda dibidik, meski belum semuanya sukses dibawa ke San Siro. Dari yang sedikit itu, wakil presiden Adriano Galliani mengklaim telah mendapatkan pemain muda yang akan menjadi pemain bintang masa depan Milan.
"Milan telah mendatangkan pemain muda berbakat yang sangat bagus, yang akan langsung masuk ke tim utama," tandasnya kepada Sportsmediaset.it. "Saya tak akan menyebut namanya karena ! masih ada detail kesepakatan yang harus dituntaskan," papar Galliani lagi.

Flamini Peringatkan Leonardo

MILAN - Baru bertugas, pelatih anyar AC Milan sudah mendapat peringatan keras dari pemainnya Mathieu Flamini, Mengapa? 'Sinyal merah' yang dikirimkan gelandang Prancis itu menyangkut kejelasan nasibnya di skuad Rossoneri.
Flamini menyatakan kalau dirinya akan menolak tegas jika diperintahkan bermain sebagai full-bek. Gareth Bale Target Prioritas Milan

MILAN - AC Milan menempatkan Gareth Bale, fullback Tottenham Hotspurs, sebagai target prioritas. Kabar ini muncul sehari setelah Leonardo, pelatih Milan, mengatakan I Rossoneri membutuhkan satu striker dan satu pemain belakang.
Bale dianggap cocok mengisi posisi left-back Milan untuk musim depan. Pers Italia melaporkan Milan akan segera melayangkan tawaran ke Spurs. Di Inggris, Daiy Mail membenarkan laporan itu.

Milan Beri Roma Kontrak Jangka Pendek

MILAN - AC Milan resmi mendatangkan kiper Flavio Roma dari AS Monaco dan memberinya kontrak jangka pendek. Kedatangan kiper 35 tahun itu sekaligus mendepak Zeljko Kalac dari San Siro. Kabar Milan akan membeli Roma sudah diendus media Italia sejak sehari sebelumnya.
Kiper 35 tahun yang sebelumnya memperkuat AS Monaco itu memang sudah berada di Milan untuk menjalani tes media. Dan isu yang dihembuskan media Italia terbukti tak salah, dikutip dari situs resmi klub, Milan mengonfirmasi kedatangan Roma dan pada! saat bersamaan memutus kontrak kiper Australia, Zeljko Kalac.
Mungkin dilatarbelakangi usia Roma yang sudah renta, Milan tak memberi kontrak dengan durasi panjang. Seperti diberitakan Football-Italia, Roma akan bertahan di Milan paling tidak sampai 30 Juni 2010. "AC Milan mengumumkan kalau kami telah memutus kontrak Kalac berdasar kesepakatan bersama.

Masa-masa terbaik yang pernah didapatnya adalah saat memperkuat AS Monaco dari 2001 sampai akhir musim lalu.

Berlusconi Masih Percayakan Leonardo

MILAN - Kekalahan memalukan (0-4) yang dialami AC Milan dari Inter Milan di "Giornata" kedua tak lantas membuat sang presiden, Silvio Berlusconi, kecewa kepada pelatih Leonardo. Dia bahkan tetap akan mempertahankan posisi pelatih muda itu.
"Saya yakin kami membuat keputusan yang tepat memilih Leornado dan Dia akan bekerja dengan baik. Dia adalah pelatih debutan dan pantas diberi kesempatan," ucap Berlusconi. Karier Leonardo sebagai allenatore adalah pekerjaan baru baginya. Sebelum jadi pelatih, Leonardo menjabat sebagai direktur teknis "! I Rossoneri".

Demam Paksa Ronaldinho Absen

MILAN - AC Milan berusaha keras untuk meraih kemenangan kandang pertama musim ini, setelah dalam partai sebelumnya dihancurkan Inter beberapa pekan lalu, dan kini Bologna yang menjadi tamu.

Ronaldinho Ketahuan Dugem di Paris

PARIS - Gelandang AC Milan, Ronaldinho, ternyata masih sempat berpesta pora di tengah limbungnya performa Milan. Media Perancis, L'Equipe, mengklaim, memergoki Ronaldinho saat sedang menikmati hiburan malam di Perancis.
Menurut L'Equipe, Ronaldinho menghadiri sebuah pesta yang diadakan Roda de Cavaca L'Ermitage. Di sana, ia naik panggung dan mulai bermain perkusi. L'Equipe menduga, Ronaldinho sengaja memilih berpesta di Paris untuk bebas dari sorotan media Italia.
Bukan kali ini saja Ronaldinho kedapatan berhura-hura di tenga! h kondisi klub yang memprihatinkan. Pada Senin (28/9) atau dua hari sebelum duel Milan versus FC Zurich di Liga Champions, Ronaldinho juga kedapatan berpesta di klub malam "Shocking", Milan. Akibatnya, ia dijatuhi denda besar oleh Milan.
Saat ini, Ronaldinho memang sedang punya banyak waktu luang mengingat ia tidak dipanggil masuk Tim Nasional Brasil untuk duel lanjutan babak kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2010 Afrika Selatan, akhir pekan ini.

Ancelotti hails Blues display

The Blues maintained their perfect start to the season thanks to goals from Ashley Cole, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba.

They were made to work hard early on before taking control of the contest and running out comfortable winners.

"We did a very good job, especially in the second half," Ancelotti told Sky Sports. "The first half was more difficult because Tottenham played well.

"We played well defensively and counter-attacked well, and this was an important match for the fans as well.

"We have started very well but we have to continue because the championship is not finished now. It is very long and we have to pay attention every match."

Tottenham had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down when Robbie Keane appeared to be tripped by Ricardo Carvalho but Ancelotti insists he could not see the incident clearly.

He said: "I was far from the situation but I don't like to speak about the job of the referee.! I prefer to speak about the match."

Drogba
Drogba suffered an injury towards the end of the Stamford Bridge encounter and left the pitch in considerable pain.

The problem will be assessed over the next few days but Ancelotti does not think it will be a major issue.

"We don't know," he said. "We will have to wait some days but we hope it is not a big problem.

"We think he had cramp and we hope he will be good for the next matches."

Tolak Inter, Hleb Dipinjamkan ke Stuttgart

Gelandang timnas Belarusia sekaligus Barcelona Alexander Hleb merasa tidak senang dipinjamkan ke Inter Milan sebagai bagian kesepakatan transfer Ibrahimovic ke Barcelona. Ia akhirnya dipinjamkan ke klub Jerman Stuttgart selama setahun.

ASPETTANDO LA A... JUVE-MILAN & INTER-FIORENTINA

La 33.ma giornata potrebbe risultare il turno più importante e decisivo di tutto il campionato,in ottica Champions,scudetto e salvezza.
Una gara da Champions è quella che vedrà opposte Juventus e Milan. Ranieri sa che una vittoria contro i rossoneri renderebbe più sicura la partecipazione dei suoi ragazzi in Champions league e probabilmente escluderebbe definitivamente i campioni del mondo.
In casa Milan si respira l'aria da finale:infatti i rossoneri non possono assolutamente perdere punti a Torino se vogliono regalare la Champions a Dinho e a Sheva. Interessante,spettacolare e importante si preannuncia Inter-Fiorentina: i nerazzurri dov! ranno fare a meno di Ibra e si consolano con un attacco formato da Super Mario e uno tra Crespo e Cruz,inoltre Mancini sorride per i recuperi di Chivu,Suazo e Vieira. La Fiorentina, che presumibilmente sarà stanca,non effettuerà turn over e giocherà in campo con gli eroi di Eindhoven.
La Roma sarà impegnato ad Udine,una trasferta tutt'altro che facile. Le altre gare sono:Catania-Palermo,Napoli-Atalanta,Livorno-Cagliari,Empoli-Parma,Reggina-Sampdoria,Lazio-Siena e Genoa-Torino.

INTER SU HAMSIK

Fra i "due o tre giocatori" che Mourinho intende chiedere a Moratti c'è anche Marek Hamsik. Lo slovacco del Napoli ha convinto il nuovo tecnico interista. Del resto, la rivelazione del centrocampo biancazzurro ha disputato un campionato eccellente. Anche la Juve, che ha da risolvere con De Laurentiis la comproprietà di Zalayeta, ha provato con insistenza a convincere il club partenopeo a cedere il suo giovane talento.
Ora è l'Inter a farsi avanti, anzi, ad andare all'assalto, visto che l'offerta nerazzurra pare essere davvero invitante: 20 milioni di euro. Una cifra di fronte alla quale De Laurentiis avrebbe difficoltà a dire di no, c! onsiderato che Moratti potrebbe inserire nella trattativa anche il cartellino di Adriano, che dal San Paolo (squadra) potrebbe fare il grande salto al San Paolo (stadio).
Già perché l'Inter potrebbe proprio aver bisogno di Hamsik se, come sembra, Stankovic dovesse partire. Destinazioni? C'è anche la Juve.

MORATTI:"LAMPARD E' IN BILICO TRA PIACERE E DOVERE"

"Dimmi che mi vuoi e ti vengo a prendere". Il messaggio lanciato da Moratti a Lampard il giorno dopo l'appello di Mourinho ("Mi serve un altro centrocampista") suona più o meno così. Il centrocampista del Chelsea costa molto e, al momento, non è in vendita. Per riuscire a strapparlo alle grinfie di Abramovich serve dunque un atto di forza. Un'azione che Moratti il romantico è disposto a compiere. A patto che il giocatore gli mostri amore, voglia, desiderio di passare in nerazzurro. Altrimenti bye bye.
Il presidente nerazzurro, che ha assistito al primo allenamento della squadra alla Pinetina (fra p! oche ore si parte per Brunico), fa il punto sulla trattativa per portare a Milano il fuoriclasse dei blues: "In questa situazione, dipende molto dalla sua volontà. Noi stiamo aspettando che questa volontà venga espressa. Lampard è un ragazzo molto serio e certamente in bilico tra il piacere di fare un cosa e il senso del dovere verso l'attuale società. Alla fine toccherà a lui arrivare a una soluzione". Poi Moratti avverte: "Per noi il discorso di Lampard è prioritario, naturalmente però in questi casi ti guardi in giro. Non è facilissimo trovare il giocatore giusto perché stiamo parlando di una squadra nella quale ci sono tutti elementi di altissimo livello. Bisogna quindi trovarne uno che possieda le caratteristiche per completare questo gruppo, ma non è uno scherzo". Come dire: Frank, spicciati!
MORATTI SU MOURINHO"Il motivo della mia presenza, oltre al fatto che me lo ha chiesto Mourinho, è dovuto alla curiosità di vedere come sono impostati gli allenamenti e quant! o si realizza di tutto quello che ho letto e si sente in giro,! quello su cui ho scommesso. Mourinho è una persona dinamica. Mi hanno colpito la vivacità del lavoro e la costante presenza del pallone". Mourinho ha dettato le sue regole. Chi arriva in ritardo paga, e allora Moratti ci scherza su... "Avevo quasi paura anch'io di arrivare in ritardo... Mi sembra che abbia parlato con molta chiarezza, simpatia e fiducia ai giocatori. Vincono sia la disciplina che la fiducia reciproca. Da parte mia c'è grande entusiasmo verso qualcuno che ti dà l'impressione di avere una marcia in più. E' una cosa importante perché non si tratta di un giocatore, ma di quello che fa giocare tutti. Per questo ha un'importanza notevole".

"LO STOP DI ADRI NON CI VOLEVA"

Mi spiace molto per l'infortunio di Adriano. Non ci voleva. Lo volevo provare in coppia con Ibrahimovic". E' un Mourinho sconsolato quello che parla del ko dell'Imperatore. Segno che José, sul brasiliano, conta davvero. Anche a costo di modificare il suo modulo preferito: "I due in coppia voglio vederli. Adesso però bisogna pensare a migliorare. Certo è che anche col Benfica una squadra sarà in campo e una rimarrà ad Appiano Gentile".
L'Inter che giocherà a Lisbona per la prima edizione della Eusebio Cup, quindi, sarà ancora molto rimaneggiata. "E' un peccato che Adriano non possa giocare con Ib! ra - ha detto il tecnico portoghese -. Mi spiace non vedere i due calciatori insieme in una squadra che, dal punto di vista dell'organizzazione difensiva, sta crescendo molto bene. Tutto il lavoro degli ultimi 15 giorni ora lo riponiamo in un cassetto e aspettiamo che Adriano possa ritornare nuovamente in gruppo".

Il tecnico, tuttavia, non perde l'ottimismo. E già si proietta sul campionato: "La squadra, comunque, sta lavorando bene e abbiamo fiducia nel futuro. Aspettiamo le gare con Roma e Sampdoria: sono quelle che dobbiamo giocare e vincere prima della sosta di campionato, che sarà per noi importante perché, alla ripresa, anche gli infortunati potranno essere in condizione di giocare".

Che Inter sarà quella che giocherà a Lisbona? "Vedremo un'Inter senza tanti giocatori", ha detto Mourinho. "Una situazione che ci portiamo dietro dall'inizio della preparazione. Ho detto che a Monaco avevamo due squadre: una in campo e una in tribuna. A Lisbona sarà ! lo stesso solo che una sarà in campo e l'altra qui ad Appiano ! Gentile ad allenarsi con i preparatori atletici e lo staff medico: Cordoba, Materazzi, Samuel, Vieira, Chivu, Rivas, Adriano e Dacourt. Ma per gli altri sarà l'evoluzione naturale di una squadra che in questo momento ha una struttura".

A complicare i piani ci si sono messe anche le nazionali: "Ovviamente non siamo contenti che un giocatore come Ibrahimovic, con il quale stiamo lavorando da tanto tempo con l'intento di averlo pronto per le prime gare ufficiali, sia chiamato per giocare in nazionale. Certo, averlo tutti i giorni qui sarebbe stato emglio. Queste però sono le regole del gioco e le dobbiamo accettare".

"Anche l'amichevole dell'Argentina in Bielorussia non arriva in un momento molto buono -ha proseguito Mourinho -, ma io ho parlato con la società e sono molto felice perché hanno messo me e i giocatori nella condizione di fare le cose nel modo più professionale possibile. Andrò a vedere la partita e al termine tornerò subito a Milano con i giocatori a! rgentini grazie a un volo privato".

MILAN, LA UEFA PER SOLLEVARSI

Uniti per vincere le difficoltà. La lunga riunione di lunedì tra società e staff tecnico è servita per fare chiarezza sul momento no del Milan. A zero punti dopo due giornate di campionato, i rossoneri si avvicinano alla sfida di Coppa Uefa con lo Zurigo con la convinzione di poter scacciare le nubi scure che si stanno addensando sul cielo di Milanello.
"Nel colloquio di lunedì c'è stata autocritica da parte di tutti, quindi anche mia, qualche errore l'ho commesso. Il momento è molto delicato, ma vedo una volontà non comune da parte di tutti di uscire da questo periodo. Vedo una vicinanza particolare da parte! della società che ha una maniera molto lucida di valutare il momento. Adesso lavoreremo insieme a Milanello e giocheremo insieme le partite. Questo ci permetterà di trovare le soluzioni più efficaci".
Un Milan al quale mancheranno diversi elementi, su tutti Andrea Pirlo, l'ultimo infortunato in ordine di tempo. Una lesione muscolare potrebbe costringerlo lontano dai campi per diverse settimane.
"Pirlo evidentemente non ci sarà, cosi` come non ci sarà Inzaghi. I giocatori che possono giocare al posto di Andrea sono Flamini, in primis, ed Emerson. Daremo un turno di riposo a Zambrotta e Maldini, in porta ci sarà Dida, mentre Senderos non è ancora disponibili. Tutti gli altri sono convocabili, compresi Ronaldinho e Shevchenko che stanno facendo un lavoro a parte per migliorare la loro condizione".
Dall'infermeria arrivano però buone notizie per quanto riguarda il recupero flash di Gennaro Gattuso. Il centrocampista rossonero si era infortunato lo scorso 7 sette! mbre cadendo nel pozzetto dove si trova la panchina durante un! allenam ento con la nazionale ed era stato subito operato per ridurre diverse fratture al polso della mano sinistra. L'infortunio non aveva impedito a Gattuso di riprendere subito ad allenarsi con il resto dei suoi compagni con un tutore che protegge il braccio infortunato. Contro lo Zurigo, quindi, ci sarà anche se con ogni probabilità partirà dalla panchina.
Ancelotti non nasconde l'amarezza di non potersi confrontare con le migliori squadre impegnate in Champions League.
E' una squadra vivace, non hanno abilita` straordinarie, ma hanno una buona organizzazione di gioco. Sulle fasce sono una squadra molto dinamica e giocano a buoni ritmi. Dispiace - conclude il mister - non giocare la Champions League. La Coppa Uefa non dà gli stessi stimoli, però se avremo la capacità di arrivare fino a marzo anche la Coppa Uefa potrà rivelarsi una competizione molto interessante. Domani è una occasione per cercare la spinta giusta per risolvere i problemi".
E tutti, dai tifosi all! a società, se lo augurano veramente.

ANCELLOTTI SOGNA UN GRANDE DINHO A LECCE

"Speriamo sia la volta buona". Questo l'augurio che si fa Ancelotti, che con il Milan allo stadio Via del Mare ha vinto solo il 5 gennaio del 2002, quasi sette anni fa, grazie a un gol di Josè Mari. Una statistica da cancellare, un altro piccolo tabù da sfatare. Anche se il tecnico rossonero, a sentire parlare di un eventuale pareggio, non si scompone più di tanto. "Un pareggio non si può disprezzare in questo momento del campionato. E' chiaro, però, che uno vorrebbe vincere tutte le partite. E noi andremo a Lecce per vincere. Poi dipenderà dalla gara".
Perché quella di Beretta "è un! a squadra da temere: ha entusiasmo, voglia di fare e credo che come tante piccole stia facendo un buon calcio. Ha una grande organizzazione". Mentre il Milan in trasferta ultimamente magari ha vinto, ma certo non ha convinto. "Penso che possiamo giocare meglio di quanto fatto nelle ultime partite fuori casa. Mantenendo però la stessa concentrazione".

A centrocampo, con Gattuso e Seedorf, "giocherà Flamini".

MANCIO:"INTER VINCERA' LO SCUDETTO"

"L'assenza di Kakà è una grave perdita per il Milan, è uno che fa la differenza ma il derby è una gara particolare e a volte le assenze non contano. L'Inter non avrà grandi difficoltà a vincere questo campionato". Lo ha detto l'ex tecnico nerazzurro Roberto Mancini in un'intervista a Controcampo. In Champions sfida tra chi ha vinto il Pallone d'oro (Ronaldo) e chi vuole vincerlo: "Ibra se lo merita". Chelsea o City nel futuro? "Per adesso nulla".



Su Ibrahimovic: "Ha tutte le qualità per vincere il Pallone d'oro - ha ! detto Mancini - Anche quest'anno sta portando l'Inter a vincere il campionato. Perché l'Inter non avrà grandi difficoltà a conquistarlo".

GENOA NON SI FERMA

Per trovare la forza di credere a un sogno più grande di se stessi bisogna raschiare non solo il barile. Ma anche qualcos'altro. Perché la partita vira al 39' del primo tempo. Quando Gervasoni estrae il secondo giallo in faccia a Cossu per un fallo 'tattico'. Esagerato. Da qui in poi il Cagliari cambia aspetto e anche marcia. Inaspettatamente. Il Genoa vede il baratro su un colpo di nuca di Lopez (palo).

Allegri non concede sconti. Lascia la squadra intatta. E nella ripresa i suoi si ritrovano davanti a Rubinho due volte. Fini e Lazzari, però, sono accomunati dal solito e triste destino. Quello di vedersi respinta la conclusione da Rubinho. Ottima sagoma da prendere in pieno.

Il Napoli fuori da la coppa, ma quanto ha da recriminare!

Il Napoli esce a testa alta dalla coppa UEFA, ma con molta amerezza, gli errori arbitrali sono stati tantissimi, e tutti a sfavore dei partenopei. Il gol dell'1 a 0 era viziato da un fallo nettissimo su Lavezzi proprio sul lancio che ha portato Reyes al gol mentre il gol di Nuno Gomes del 2 a 0 non sarebbe dovuto esistere, consider! ato che l'arbitro ha fatto finta di non vedere una gomitata nettissima dell'attacante portoghese su contini a metà primo tempo. Con un arbitro diverso forse sarebbe stata un'altra storia, e poi ci lamentiamo dei nostri arbitri italiani?? C'è di peggio, riporto l'articolo del corriere pubblicato di seguito:
